What We Do

Mother and Infant Nutrition Improvement Program(MINIP)

MINIP, a Food for All Africa initiative, targets infant malnutrition and poverty among vulnerable mothers and communities nationwide.

According to the Children’s Health and Nutritional Status in Ghana, more than one quarter (28%) of all children under age five (5) are malnourished, resulting in stunted growth. Economic constraints contribute to insufficient access to nutritious food for both mothers and infants.

Economic challenges have resulted in a scarcity of nutritious food for mothers and infants, exacerbating malnutrition. To tackle this, Food for All Africa partnered with district health directorates in Accra to launch the Mother and Infant Nutrition Improvement Program (MINIP) in January 2023.

Food For All Africa

The vision for MINIP is a Ghana free from mother and infant malnutrition and poverty.

MINIP's objective is to establish a systemic solution to enhance the availability of nutritionally balanced food, ensuring efficient, safe, and equitable distribution to malnourished mothers and infants.

Collaborating with community health centers and social welfare officers, the program offers nutritional, health, and empowerment support to mothers and infants.
