What We Do

Mother and Infant Nutrition Improvement Program (MINIP)

The Mother and Infant Nutrition Improvement Program (MINIP) is a flagship initiative of Food for All Africa designed to address infant malnutrition, maternal food insecurity, and poverty among vulnerable mothers and communities across Ghana.

MINIP is a targeted nutrition intervention programme that focuses on improving the health and well-being of pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under five years of age through structured food support, nutrition education, and community-based health partnerships.

The Challenge

According to Ghana’s Children’s Health and Nutritional Status Report, more than 28% of children under five years old are malnourished, resulting in stunted growth and long-term developmental challenges.

Economic hardship remains a major driver of this crisis, limiting access to affordable, nutritious food for mothers and infants. This lack of adequate nutrition during critical early life stages contributes to poor health outcomes, weakened immunity, and reduced cognitive development.

Our Response
To address this urgent challenge, Food for All Africa launched the Mother and Infant Nutrition Improvement Program (MINIP) in January 2023 in partnership with district health directorates in Accra.

The programme is built on a community-centered approach that integrates food support with health systems to ensure lasting impact.

Through MINIP, we:

Food For All Africa

Building Healthier Futures

Through MINIP, Food for All Africa is working to break the cycle of malnutrition and poverty by ensuring that no mother or child is left behind.

By combining food support, health partnerships, and community education, we are building stronger families, healthier children, and more resilient communities across Ghana.

Together with our partners, we are creating a future where every mother is supported, and every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
